In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the franchise, EA SPORTS sits down with legendary broadcast analyst and former NFL head coach John Madden to discuss the number one selling football video game in history - his namesake - Madden NFL Football.
In this video interview, Madden discusses his involvement with the game and his vision for the franchise. Madden has always insisted the franchise be an authentic representation of professional football. In 1988, consistent with his vision, John Madden Football debuted as the first-ever football video game to offer 11-on-11 action.
“I’ve been in the development of this game since day one,” says Madden, the forefather of the franchise. “One of my goals was to make the videogame look like television.”
Today, Madden NFL is one of the best selling video game franchises of all time, garnering numerous accolades for its realistic depiction of NFL football.
